Regardless of the type of tumor, its surface localization in one of the hemispheres of the SCP over the lesion was lower than in the symmetric region of the intact hemisphere. In many cases, it was possible to see an area with elevated SCP values in the symmetric lead of a healthy hemisphere .
SCP mapping for 17 leads. Control – average values for the group of healthy subjects, age-matched patients. In the examples given, the tumors were localized in the temporal and parotid-temporal areas.
Thus, in the area of the tumor, there is a local decrease in SCP, apparently due to the fact that the tumor tissue is more alkaline than the brain tissue. A local decrease in AMR in the tumor area is masked by a general increase in constant potentials associated with brain acidification due to necrobiotic damage, cerebral ischemia and increased glycolysis. Registration of SCP is inferior to modern methods: CTG, MRI, PET in the exact localization of tumors. However, SCP analysis can be useful for assessing the severity of cerebral changes associated with necrobiotic processes and the increase in glycolysis.
