Let us consider in more detail how SCP changes throughout life in each of the areas. In all monopolar leads, a definite tendency to decrease in potential with age is visible. The dynamics of SCP are not the same in different parts of the brain. The most pronounced linear correlation with age in the entire surveyed population of men and women is observed in the central lead: the correlation coefficient r = -0.35, with p <0.00001. Figure shows how the distribution of SCP in the central lead changes with development and aging. In the other leads, deviations from linearity are more pronounced.
Age-dependent change in the distribution of SCP in the central lead.
On the X axis – age, on the Y axis – the SCP value, mV, on the Z axis – the appearance of one or another SCP value at each age,%
It can be seen that despite the scatter of data, there is a noticeable trend indicating an age-related decrease in SCP in the central lead.
