Benign paroxysmal dizziness usually makes its debut in early childhood and manifests itself in short-term episodes of marked imbalance, more frequent at an early age and slowing down as they grow older. Manifestations usually disappear by 5 years.
Benign paroxysmal dizziness:
– In 74% of cases it debuts at the age of 2-4 years old (average debut age is 2.5 years)
– Often passes by 5 years
– Episodes of pronounced imbalance last from several seconds to several minutes (in 68% of cases – up to 5 minutes)
– In 68% of cases, the frequency of episodes is 1-2 per month
