Abdominal migraine in children – signs
Abdominal migraines are described as episodic attacks of abdominal pain, of moderate to high intensity, often accompanied by nausea, vomiting and pallor. In this case, any pathology of the gastrointestinal tract is not detected. Unlike cyclic vomiting, abdominal migraine usually debuts in older children.
Abdominal migraine:
– Children’s age (average debut age 7.6 years)
– Episodic abdominal pains last from several hours to several days
– Lack of symptoms between attacks
– Usually accompanied by pallor.
– In 65% of cases, a family history of migraine is detected.
– Usually, when they are older, these children develop migraines.
